AS Lightpaw walked toward the training hollow, he saw Autumnstar sitting silently waiting for him.

"Let's start by teaching you how to hunt prey, this is the correct stalking way"Autumnstar bent to a low crouch and tiptoed across the small clearing near the Training Hollow, her tail swishing back and forth silently, just then a mouse crossed by, Autumnstar jumped and dove at it with all her strength, she landed on it and pawed it upward, stabbed it and laid it on the grassy grounds, she sweeped dirt over it and meowed "I'll leave it here for later"she put her stare back on Lightpaw"Get it, that's how you do it, now you try, I see a wood mouse there"Autumnstar pointed her muzzle toward the young mouse.

After seeing Autumnstar's demonstration, Lightpaw tried it himself. He crouched down, keeping his belly only a few millimeters from the ground. He slowly rocked side by side, slowing his steps and walking on his toes. He slowly approched the wood mouse. Lightpaw was only a few more paces from the mouse when all of a sudden, the mouse scurried away, realizing that its life was in danger. Lightpaw purred in disappointment,"Awww, I was so close in getting that mouse..."

"Lightpaw, try not to pound on the the ground that hard, you have to have a steady pace, and step on the ground lightly each time, you also have to keep at least two-tail-lengths away from your prey.When you see your prey scurrying away,take a risk and jump at it, that's what it's like to be a brave warrior, don't underestimate your own speed, Lightpaw" purred Autumnstar, showing no satisfaction.

"Yes, Autumnstar." Lightpaw crouched into the stalking stance, but this time he moved with lighter footsteps. He slowly approched the vole, his heart was beating fast for he was about to catch his very first prey. He leaned closer, ready for a jump. He bolt right to the vole, who finally notice Lightpaw's movement. But Lightpaw was too fast for it. He snatched the rodent, threw it on the ground and leaped onto it again sinking his teath into it's flesh.
