As Lightpaw followed Autumnstar through the forest, the forest seemed to change, the forest surroundings lingered with the scent of adders, and Lightpaw could hear their hissing throughout the forest.

Lightpaw padded deeper into the forest. He was surrounded by the scent and sounds of the adders. Suddenly, he heard a rustle of to his right, he immediately sniffed the air, only to taste the smell of an adder nearby. Suddenly, he was filled with panic, he was scared that he wasn't ready to face an adder yet. However, he remembered Autumnstar was watching him nearby and he didn't want to disappoint his mentor. He took a deep breath slowly started approaching the adder. When it came into view, he saw a long, slender body coated with dark, black skin. It's body stretching for at least four-tails length. It continously hissed, disturbing the silence of the forest. The adder hadn't notice Lightpaw yet so he slowly, on his toes, stalked towards his prey. Once he was two tail-lengths away, he pounced towards the adder. He gripped onto the adder's head with his paws, so it couldn't bite him. However, he found himself loosing grip because of the adder's slippery skin. He immediately bounced away, to avoid the adder's fang. The adder threatened Lightpaw by showing his poisonous, sharp fangs. After Lightpaw regained his balance, he continued to approach the adder, circling around it. He quickly jumped towards the adder, careful to dodge its fang. This time, he went straight for the adder's mouth, piercing through it with his claws, clamming it shut. He then dug his teeth into the adder's neck, killing the adder. Lightpaw panted heavily, while growling triumphantly about his success in captruing the adder.

"Well done, young one, you performed very well, before long you'll be a wonderful warrior" Autumnstar stalked toward Lightpaw with a very proud gleam in her eyes, she leapt at Lightpaw licking his ears as if to congratulate him for his sucess, "you could bring that back to camp, but if you like you can hunt a bit more" Autumnstar gestured for Lightpaw to return to camp, but she half wanted Lightpaw to hunt more.

" I guess I'll hunt more, but after I take a rest," sighed Lightpaw as he dug through the dirt placing the adder inside so he could retrive it later.

"Perhaps, you could hunt other prey, like some wood mouse, or black pigeons?" purred Autumnstar over the noise of hissing Adders.

Lightpaw wandered back to the forest, away from the Snakerocks. He sniffed the air to locate some avaliable fresh-kill for the Clan.
