"I'm here," exclaimed Lightpaw. Although he knew this was training he was still very excited to practice his hunting skills.

"Alright, we'll start off by hunting, I want to see how much you have progressed" replied Autumnstar, lifting her muzzle to the air to taste a sniff. She breathed in fresh mouse scent as it reached the roof of her jaws she was overwhelmed by the fresh odor, for she has not eaten since the last dawn "Over there, you smell it?" she asked Lightpaw. "Remember all I have taught you, use it!" she purred. as Autumnstar galloped towards the sweet odor of the fresh mouse scent.

Lightpaw also scented the prey nearby, he raced after Autumnstar toward the prey. He found the mouse scuttering around the ground looking for its own food. Lightpaw stalked toward the mouse. This time, instead of going as close as he can before leaping, he leaped earlier for he was confident in his jump being able to reach the mouse. He came onto the mouse and bit down onto the mouse before it could even squeak.
